This week’s challenge hits close to home. This is one of my favourite pictures I’ve taken recently, just as the trip to Wales was one of the best trips we had in a long time. Freshwater West beach in Pembrokeshire was almost entirely deserted in May, apart from the few people walking their dogs and some girls playing croquet on an impromptu court; there was a quiet poetry in the symmetry of mirrorlike effects; something irresistibly pleasing to the eye in the balance, the contrasting colours and the slight distortion in the reflection of the clouds, as the afternoon light hit the wet sand.
